July 2007
July 10, 2007 -- Reception honoring Richard Teitz, outgoing President of the Yale Club of South Texas for the past 5 years, and for Jennifer Munzel, outgoing Chair of the Alumni Schools Committee for the past 8 years. Hosted by Dr. Karen Diaz and Dr. Joe Johnson at their home in Olmos Park at 7:00 p.m. Mr. Teitz will be joining the Peace Corps in Panama and Ms. Munzel is our newly elected Vice President.
July 19-24 -- Planning meetings between newly installed President Martin R. Acevedo and the Executive Officers and Chairs of the Yale Club of South Texas.
August
August 10 -- Launch of Yale Club of South Texas website! www.yaleclubstx.org
August 15 -- South Texas "Send Off" Reception for new Yalies, current students and members of the Alumni Schools Committee. (For more details, please follow the link: South Texas "Send Off" Reception.)
August 22 -- Evening Information Session with Adam Torres, Assistant Director of Admissions, Yale Office for Undergraduate Admissions. To be held at 7:00 p.m. at the Piper-Bass Student Center (see map), located on the grounds of the Blossom Athletic Center, 12002 Jones Maltsberger, San Antonio, TX. All local students and Yale alumni are invited to attend. See the attached flyer for more information and directions.

September 22 -- Executive Committee Strategic Planning Retreat. Young Alum Committee established. Shantayan "Kinu" Panda elected as first Co-Chair.
September 26 --Lindsay Hobbs, Assistant Director of Admissions, visits San Antonio (and Austin and Houston) as part of her designated recruiting visits.

October 22 -- Kick-off of Membership Drive for Yale Club of South Texas. Goal is to double the number of active members for 2007-08 and double the fun!
Interview season begins for early applicants, alumni interview volunteers sign up.

November 17 -- The Game (Yale vs Harvard) in New Haven, CT, 11:00 p.m. CST, Telecast hosted at the Lion & Rose Pub at Sonterra, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
