Admissions and the Alumni Schools Committee (ASC)
Attention: Alumni
The Alumni Schools Committee (ASC) is a committee of the Yale Club of South Texas that is charged with the following priorities by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions of Yale College:
-Interview prospective applicants to Yale (Oct.-Feb)
-Recruit admitted students (Mar-Apr)
-Represent Yale at college fairs, visit area schools, and communicate with interested students and parents. (Aug-Apr)
-Host admitted student receptions and send-off parties (Mar and Aug)
Because of the volume of applicants from South Texas, all alumni in South Texas are encouraged to conduct a handful of interviews and reports on student applicants. Recent Yale alumni are especially encouraged to volunteer with ASC because of their proximate connection with Yale and local high schools.
If you would like to help interview or need more information about the ASC, please contact Dr. I-Tien Yeh, Chair of the ASC.
Also, please see our Alumni Schools Committee Guidelines to see how it easy it is join the ranks of the Alumni Schools Committee and recruit the best high school students in South Texas for Yale.
