About

In April 1974, The Yale Alumni Association of San Antonio, Texas, Inc. was incorporated "to uphold and promote the welfare of Yale University." In practice, this has meant:

-Providing an engaging network of Yale alumni and family members the opportunity to get together in fun, informal settings and more formal, intellectual pursuits;

-Recruiting and interviewing area applicants and promoting the Yale Book Award and Yale, in general, within our communities.

We host Yale professors, performance groups, annual dinners and other special events for alumni and their families. Our Alumni Schools Committee (ASC) is our area club's literal link to Yale's past, present and future through the generations of Yalies it exports to New Haven and beyond.

Since its inception, the educational and charitable purposes of the organization have extended far beyond San Antonio. The service area described in our articles of incorporation include the following counties, more aptly described as "South Texas":

Aransas, Atascosa, Bandera, Bee, Bexar, Brooke, Calhoun, Cameron, Comal, De Witt, Dimmit, Duval, Edwards, Frio, Goliad, Gonzales, Guadalupe, Hidalgo, Jackson, Jim Hogg, Jim Wells, Karnes, Kenedy, Kendall, Kerr, Kinney, Kleberg, La Salle, Lavaca, Live Oak, McMullen, Maverick, Medina, Nueces, Real, Refugio, San Patricio, Starr, Terrell, Uvalde, Val Verde, Victoria, Webb, Willacy, Wilson, Zavala, and Zapata.

Over the years, our alumni organization has become known as The Yale Club of South Texas because of our growing membership and activities along the Texas-Mexico border, the Gulf Coast, the Texas Hill Country and "patches of blue" in between.

Our Alumni Schools Committee (ASC) has been active in San Antonio, New Braunfels, Corpus Christi, Eagle Pass, Laredo, McAllen, Brownsville and other cities in South Texas.

Members throughout the area attend our club's Annual Dinner, AYA Speaker Programs, Yale Book Awards ceremonies, Yale Performance Groups events, and of course, The Game.

If you have not joined The Yale Club of South Texas or your membership has lapsed, we invite you to fill out your membership form and return it today!
